“Lifetime Warranty”, but whose life time the car or the retailer? 

Many Premium Luxury brands are touting that they have Limited Lifetime Warranty on their vehicles. Ok, so let’s just read the fine print. Yes, it’s true they have a Limited Lifetime Warranty. Oh, but do not miss the fine print. Here are some examples. 

1. All service work must be performed at an approved facility.
2. All service & repairs must be able to be documented if necessary.
3. Some repairs may require you to pay up front and then submit a claim to processing and hope you have a valid enough reason for the repair to get reimbursed.
4. Only available on some models. Must be an Asian import no older than 5 years  and the mileage varies from policy to policy or dealer.
5. These WARRANTIES are called Cardiac coverage. (Engine & Power-train only) They do not cover the electronics, radio, A/C, Windows etc…
6. Some require all service work to be done at their facility and also require preventative care such as: Brake Flush, Coolant Flush etc…

 Getting the idea?

The key word in this misleading guarantee is “LIMITED”. They are just that. The providers are banking their hopes on the additional Service work these Guarantees will ultimately require you to pay to keep the warranty valid. So let’s just break it out. You can buy a policy that covers most vehicles for up to 100,000 for as low as $535.00. Average true cost for service at a dealership:

            Troy Arch comes from an extensive background of premium luxury automobile sales in Florida. He started in Tampa, Florida under the guidance of four fantastic teachers. He worked for Precision Motorcars (Mercedes Benz of Tampa) from 1996 to 2000. During such time Troy held positions of increasing responsibility, including After-Market Manager and Client Advisor.  He  was ultimately promoted to Lead F& I Manager at the young age of 25.  In the year 2000,  his mentor invited him to join him in Miami at Braman Motors on Biscayne Blvd. It was there that Troy got his greatest exposure to premium luxury cars. He helped launch the Bentley GT, the Rolls Royce Phantom, and many other models for Braman.

It was Troy’s work as a Sales Manager for BMW at Braman Motors that propelled him to great heights in the BMW strata.  In 2002, he took over the sales desk at Braman Motors in Miami and moved the #1 dealer in the world to almost untouchable levels from 2002 to 2004.  This effort got him recognized as one of the most elite Sales Managers with the BMW brand.  As a result, in May of 2004, Troy was recruited by Sonic Automotive to take over their sales operations for BMW of Fort Myers.

At BMW of Fort Myers, Troy instituted processes & personnel that made that store the fastest growing BMW dealer in the United States from 2004 to 2006. Under his guidance, BMW of Fort Myers won all of Sonic Automotive most prestigious awards for both sales & service for 2004, 2005, and 2006. In the years 2004, 2005, & 2006,  BMW of Fort Myers won the coveted award from Sonic Automotive: #1 in net-to-gross store for three consecutive years out of 146 stores & 167 franchises.

Troy left BMW of Fort Myers in July 2008 and took almost 3 months off before he decided to return to work. While he had many opportunities, Troy said: “Quality of life and time with my family is my main focus. I will always take on new challenges and pour 110% of myself into that project. I am just waiting for the right opportunity.”

In September of  2008, Troy was speaking with a good friend of his (Joe Parisi). Joe mentioned he had passed his name on to a few people; and in particular, to Melinda Harrison at DeVoe Automotive Group.  After a few brief meetings with Melinda, Troy knew he had found his new home. In October of 2008, Troy began his work at DeVoe Infiniti & Volvo in Bonita Springs. “I picked the DeVoe Automotive Group because of its long history of being a premium luxury retailer of automobiles. The DeVoe family is one of the most respected families in Lee & Collier County. With their family core values and fantastic support staff, employees, and the location, it was a no-brainer for me to have the opportunity to service Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, Estero, & Naples –  all from one location. Looking back at my time so far, I know it was the right choice to work for the DeVoe family!” Let’s just say he is already beginning to make his impact on those brands.
